How To Clean Your Room In 17 Minutes
You don't think that sounds possible, do you? If you're anything like me, your room looks like a tornado and a herd of buffalo got together and had a roller skating party, and it looks like that for the majority of the time. When I found something that said I could clean it in 15 minutes a while back I didn't believe it. I also apparently didn't save it to my favorites, because today, when I needed it, I couldn't find it. I looked on Google for it and had no luck, so I though, what the heck, why not make my own?
So I'll save your I-was-supposed-to-do-this-weeks-ago-NOW-WHAT rear for you, just like I did mine today. ^.^ Only, in 17 minutes, not 15.

- Grab a clothes basket. Run around the room as quickly as you can and throw all the dirty clothes in it. Plunk it down out of the way when you're done. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Go around the room and gather up all the random objects that are just... hanging out in the middle of nowhere... and dump them in a pile on your bed. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Get the clean clothes in a stack next to the random objects pile. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Get all the in-between-clothes (you wore it for an hour... it's not dirty, but not really clean, so it's "in-between") and lay them out next to the clean clothes. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Gather up all the books and put them in the general vicinity of their home. If you have a bookshelf stack them in front of the books on the shelves or on top, if you have no shelf stack them on the floor by your bed. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Get your desk (if you have one) to where it looks like everything is stacked neatly. If your desk has a lid, door, or a roll top (as mine does) just stuff it all against the back and close it. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- If you have any rugs on the floor, make sure they aren't crooked. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Now, put away the clean clothes pile ASAP. Time Spent: 2 Minutes
- Drape the in-between-clothes over the back of a chair. If that's not an option drape them over a box in the closet. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Put all the random objects from that pile where they go in the room. If you don't know what to do with something, stuff it in a box, and jam the box in a corner or behind the door. Time Spent: 2 Minutes
- Make your bed. Don't spend too much time on it, but make it look okay. Just jerk up the sheet and blanket. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Get any decorate pillows and arrange them on the bed with any stuffed animals. If you don't have any, never mind. Time Spent: 1 Minute
- Run around the room and dust everything, while at the same time, with your other hand, grabbing stuff that is cluttered and throwing it in the closet. If you see any suitcases, purses, bags, coats/jackets, etc, pitch those in the closet while dusting as well. Also anything you forgot to hide with when you were supposed to. Time Spent: 2 Minutes
- Grab a vacuum and rapidly run it in the main walking areas of your room. The heck with the edges or under stuff. Time Spent 2 Minutes
And now no one will ever know about the buffalo and tornadoes, and they won't be there till Tuesday. :)
